Over 18 per cent of the Capital's potable water is being supplied to non-domestic consumers for purposes other than drinking and cooking, even as Delhi is in the grip of an acute water shortage. The Delhi Jal Board supplies close to 110 million gallons a day of drinking water to non-donestic consumers who do not require potable water. The Capital faces a shortfall of 200 mgd, it requires about 800 mgd but receives just about 600 mgd.
