Jal Satyagraha continues for the 10th day

Khandwa: Shri. Arun yadhav, Member of Parliament, Khandwa District reached the Jal Satyagraha site at Ghoghalgaon and heard out the issues of the Oustees. The Oustees conveyed to Shri Yadhav that “The State Government and the NHDC are not only violating the Human Rights by increasing the level of the water in Omkareshwar & Indira Sagar Dams they have also shown sheer negligence towards the order passed by the Supreme Court which says that the Water level could not be raised unless the Oustees are rehabilitated.
Also a Petition letter signed by the villagers to the Prime Minister was handed over to Shri. Yadav & the Jal Satyagrahis requested him to intervene in these issues & asked him to urge the Central & State Government to take immediate action on the same. Shri Yadhav had a discussion with the Jal Satyagrahis & also looked at the blisters & paleness of the Satyagrahi’s hands & feet. After the discussing Shri Yadhav addressed the Satyagrahis extending his solidarity he said he will fly to Delhi immediately & meet with the Energy Ministry and ask them to consider the Oustees’ demands & take immediate action.
Shri Lokendra Singh Tomar, Member of legislative Assembly from Mandhatha, also visited the Jal Satyagraha site & met up with the protesting Oustees. He was explained about the Supreme Court & High Court orders as well as dtailed about the Human Rights violations at Omkareshwar as well as Indira Sagar Dam affected villages as the water level is increased & the villages are left to drown ahead of implementing any rehabilitation procedures.
He addressed the Satyagrahis & said that he would definitely address these issues in his meeting with the Chief Minister which would happen within next two days & assured that peaceful negotiations will begin at the earliest.Other important events of the day are the Letters written by the Communist Party of India (CPI) ’s National Secretary as well as Member of Rajya Sabha Comrade D Raja to the Prime Minister of India & the Chief Ministe of Madhya Pradesh expressing their concerns about the ongoing Jal Satyagraha & asking them to take immediate steps to reduce the water level as well as rehabilitate the Oustees.
Also, the member of Polit Bureau, Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPM) Former member Rajya Sabha Smt. Brinda Karat has written to the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh insisting him to direct the NHDC to maintain the water level at 189 m & 260 m at Omkareshwar & Indira Sagar Dams respectively & to rehabilitate as well as follow the orders passed by Supreme Court.
A delegation consisting of Party members of CPM under the leadership of Comrade Sandhya Shaili visited the Satyagrahis & extended their solidarity.
Jal Satyagraha continues successfully for the 10th day at Ghoghalgaon. The Satyagrahis stood inside the water coping up with the heavy rainfall. And thousands of people are sitting in the shore marking their solidarity to the Jal Satyagrahis
