The Japanese government had not conducted on-site inspections at the uranium processing plant where a large radiation leak occurred since 1992, an official said on Saturday. "Between 1985 and 1992, we conducted inspections on JCO, but that has stopped since November 1992," said Toru Nakahara, a spokesman for the science and technology agency.
