JCO Co. on Tuesday began removing more than 30 liters of uranium solution that still remained in a settling tank at its uranium reconversion plant in Tokaimura, Ibaraki Prefecture, where Japan's worst nuclear accident occurred on Sept. 30. The company plans to pour the solution into stainless steel bottles and store them temporarily at an earthquake-resistant storage facility at the plant, JCO officials said.
