The Nucelar Power Corportion of India Limited (NPCIL) is getting ready for the criticality of its 11th atomic power station at Kaiga, in Karnataka.The second unit of the Kaiga Atomic Power Station, Kaiga-2 - a 220 mwe Pressurised Heavy Water Reactor(PHWR) was expected to go critical on August 25, subject to clearance from the Atomic Energy Regulatory Board(AERB) while Kaiga 1 would become operational by Jube 2000.
