Kalpataru project, a new venture of Government of Assam for the uplift of the economically-backward classes of the society, was inaugurated in Sonitpur district. The inauguratl function was held at Dhekiajuli development block. Ripun Bora, Minister for Panchayat and Village Development in his inaugural speech mainly dwelt on the activities and role of Panchayati Raj.
