The Karnataka Government has dropped the ambitious plan of using liquefied natural gas (LNG) as fuel for projects targeted for capacity additions. The State had proposed to convert the 500 MW thermal power project in Vijaynagar to be fired by LNG and had raised the capacity to 720 MW.
