A powerful lobby has almost scuttled the proposal to lay a gas-pipeline from the Rs 1,600-crore Petronet LNG terminal under installation in Puthuvypu, Kochi, to the Kayamkulam thermal power plant, obviously to favour a power project proposed in Mangalore.
