The people of Hyderabad finally received water from the Krishna river to meet the growing demand for drinking water in the scorching summer. About 25 million gallons of treated water reached the city through a 116 km long pipeline. The water reached the city at a time when it is in the grip of heat wave and a poll campaign. With two Lok Sabha constituencies and 13 Assembly constituencies in Hyderabad and twin city Secunderabad going to polls in the first phase on April 20, the completion of the Krishna water project comes as boost to ruling Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and its ally BJP.
