The forest officials tranquilized and captured the Lakhimpur Kheri maneater on Sunday evening at Maharajnagar village in Kheri. The three-year-old tiger will be brought to the Lucknow Zoo and is expected to reach here on late Sunday night or Monday morning. The captured tiger was tranquilized by Ajan Mazumdar of the Wildlife Trust of India (WTI). After capturing the big cat, the Forest officials heaved a sigh of relief. The tiger concerned had created panic in the villages of Kheri by attacking unsuspecting victims while working in the sugarcane fields. During the last one and a half month, the tiger had claimed more than six persons dragging the victims out of their huts. Chief Wildlife Warden BK Patnaik confirmed that the tiger was tranquilized and captured. He said that there was no possibility of the release of the tiger .
