The Madhya Pradesh government plans to introduce a Bill for bringing curbs on the use of ground-water whose levels are falling alarmingly in some parts of the state, notably, 16 blocks of the Malwa region. In other areas, the Government would encourage judicious use of groundwater so that the Malwa fiasco was not repeated.
