Lebanon began pumping water on Wednesday from the Hasbani River, a natural border it shares with Israel, despite its neighbour's opposition to the project. Israeli soldiers watched as Lebanese officials opened a pumping station on the river, which starts in south Lebanon and flows south towards Israel, where it feeds the Jordan.
