The impact of health in developing countries due to climatic changes was projected to be of alarming proportions, and it was important to bear in mind that environmental consequences, particularly in Asia, would be felt locally regionally as well as globally, Dr. A. Karim Ahmed, Deputy Director, Health Environment and Development at the Washington-based World Resources Institute, said here today. Delivering a lecture on the climate change implications, organised by the Centre for Science and Envrionment, Dr. Ahmed said both the developed nations and the poor countries had no option but to put in place climate policies for long term benefits as well as short time damage control measures.
