It seems that things are becoming favourable for the ailing Gomti. The UP chief secretary had directed the irrigation department to restore the flow in the river and remove encroachment from its banks right from Pilibhit to Ghazipur. In a high level meeting held recently, the government with irrigation department has prepared an action plan for the revival of the river. To begin with, its floodplain will be demarcated.
