Residents in Sungei Long Gang affected by the mammoth dam project in Bakun appealed to the Malaysian government to let them stay on in their current longhouses. They said they preferred their present home than the Sungei Asap Re-settlement due to the insufficient facilities there. There are 16 villagers in the Upper Rejang affected by the Bakun dam project. Until now, four villages have moved into the resettlement areas since September.
