Agroup of villagers harmed by toxic discharge from the Mae Moh lignite-fired power plant has filed a lawsuit to demand three million baht compensation for damage to crops and farmland. Over 60 villagers from Ban Huay Ped in Mae Moh district of Thailand yesterday assigned their lawyer to launch the legal action with the provincial court against PM's Office Minister Savit Bhotivihok and 14 executives of the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand and the Mae Moh power plant.
