The proposed 400-mw Maheshwar hydel project at Mandaleshwar in MP is in trouble as the project promoters have defaulted on the rehabilitaiton package for villagers displaced by the project, forcing the Union Ministry of Environment and Forests (MEF) to review the green clearance accorded to the project.
