MARGAO: Not only Madgaunkars but even the pedestrians passing by extended their hand in planting 5029 Golden Duranta plants along the 800 mars stretch of the road divider from Colva junction to Ravindra Bhavan junction on Sunday in just 22 minutes. The call to come out generously to plant the plants was given by Rajendra Talak of Clean Margao, Green Margao. The trees that were planted earlier were damaged during the MMC carnival parade in Fatorda. Actor John D’Silva and Shalom Sardinha who was King Momo for the Carnival participated in the plantation and showed their support for Clean Margao, Green Margao campaign. “Clean Margao, Green Margao supporters completed the plantation of 5029 plants at road divider opposite Ravindra Bhavan which was defaced few days ago during Carnival parade. It was completed in 22 minutes. It was nice to see the road regain its original beauty,” said Talak It may be recalled that MMC has denied permission to Clean Margao, Green Margao for their proposed garbage collection forcing them to postpone their plans for now.
