Maruti signals 'green' revolution

The country's largest car manufacturer, Maruti Udyog Ltd (MUL), is comtemplating to give a greener look to its popular passenger cars in line with the Government initiative to promote low-emission vehicular fuel. The company is negotiating a deal with Motor Medics (India) Pvt. Ltd. (MIP) for purchase of natural gas for vehicles (NGV) conversion systems with high-pressure gas components promotion the use of alternate and high efficiency and low-polluting fuel in place of gasoline (petrol) and diesel which are currently in use for all its vehicles -- the 800 cc small car, Zen, Omni van, the 1,000 cc and the 1,300 cc Esteem.
