More than five million Britons are living at a level of extreme poverty previously thought to exist only in the developing world, a study published on Thursday stated.'Breadline Europe', which looked at poverty across the Continent, identified an increasing number of Britons living in "absolute poverty" - defined as a severe deprivation of basic human needs.
