Helen Liddell, the UK energy minister, will meet Saduyuki Hayashi, the Japanese Ambassador, in a bid to restore confidence in Britain's nuclear fuel industry. Mrs Liddell is expected to make a high-level apology to Japan over British Nuclear Fuel's suspected falsification of quality assurance data on a shipment of plutonium uranium mixed oxide (MoX) fuel to Kansai Electric, the Japanese power company.
