The Union power ministry may clamp down on the tariff structure of National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) -- the country 's largest generating company. Together with the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) , it has strongly objected to the organisation's existing power tariff policy. Their bone of contention is the age-old NTPC practice of recovering fixed costs from consumers regardless of the level of generation.
