Wiebo Ludwig, a former preacher who began an environmental crusade against the oil and gas industry from remote Alberta commune in Canada, has been convicted of vandalizing two gas wells and conspiring to obtain explosives. Mr. Ludwig had become a hero to environmentalists and other people living near gas wells in Alberta. His campaign resulted in tougher provincial regulation of wells.
