A major power project in Mizoram has been shelved due to the economic sanctions imposed on India by Japan following the Pokhran nuclear tests. The 210 MW Muivai project, which was to be financed by the Overseas Economic Cooperation Fund, had been put on hold following the imposition of Japanese sanctions.
