The Andhra Pradesh State Legislative Assembly passed the Appropriation Bills by voice vote amidst walkout by Congress and CPI-M in protest against the government's failure to provide adequate relief in drought hit areas and other burning issues. The Bill to authorise payments and appropriation of Rs 43,736.63 crore from and out of the consolidated fund of the State of Andhra Pradesh for the services of the financial year commencing April 1, and another Bill to authorise supplementary appropriation of Rs 3852.11 crore from and out of the consolidated fund of the State of Andhra Pradesh for the financial year, which commenced on April 1, 2002 were passed after a three hour discussion.
