Thailand's Science, Technology and Environment Ministry will today ask the National Environment Board to nominate 61 sites around the country as "wetlands of international significance" to ensure their survival. Many urgently need to be protected, restored and studied. Out of 61 sites, nine were considered in "very bad" condition, an Office of Environmental Policy and Planning biologist said.
