MoUs with Six private institutions for integrated water management programme

Madhya Pradesh will become first state in the country where, with private participation under integrated water conservation area management programme, water conservation, preservation and regeneration work will be done in rural areas. Panchayat, Rural Development and Social Justice Minister Gopal Bhargava said that Memorandum of Undertaking (MoU) will be signed with six properly selected big companies in the presence of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at Academy of Administration on October 20. Gopal Bhargava said that integrated water conservation area management programme has been started in the state. Through this, water conservation work will be done in rural areas where importance will also be given for improvement and management work for rural livelihood. The other important fact of this programme is that income of the rural populace would increase and conservation of soil and water will continue to be done in traditional method. Bharagava said that for this purpose, along with government and non-government institutions, the state government has taken initiative to associate corporate sector and industrial sector. Under this programme such corporate and industrial sectors have been associated who have experience in human resources management, ability for management, modern knowledge and better implementation of the project. The minister said that the state government had issued advertisements in newspapers inviting NGOs working in water area management, rural development work, education and agriculture fields to associate them with the water conservation work. He said that as a result of the advertisement, 47 institutions had responded with proposals. Out of the proposals received, 18 were found suitable. On the basis of the prescribed process, Rameki Foundation, I T C Limited, International Traxibility System Limited, Mahendra and Mahendra Limited, Ramkrishna Agro Processing Private Limited, Orient Paper Mills, Aga Khan Rural Support Programme India, Grasim Janseva Trust, Reliance Power, Nature Bio Food Organisation were selected. On the basis of availability of projects for eight districts, MoUs will be signed with six selected organisations on October 20. These organisations are Rameki Foundation, I T C Limited, International Traxibility System Limited, Mahendra and Mahendra Limited, Ramkrishna Agro Processing Private Limited and Grasim Janseva Trust. These organisations will work in Vidisha, Sagar, Ujjain, Mandsaur, Katni, Damoh, Nrasinghpur and Neemuch districts.
