The Maharashtra State Electricity Board has been authorised by the State Government to take strong steps immediately to protects its interests by taking recourse to various options, including an early issue of preliminary notice of termination to the Enron-sponsored Dabhol Power Company on grounds of misrepresentation of quality norms of equipment installed in the power plant and its inability to deliver power at the levels stipulated in the power purchase agreement (PPA).
