Maharashtra State Electricity Board (MSEB) today issued a notice to Dabhol Power Company (DPC) for scrapping the power purchase agreement (PPA) for the 22,184 mega-watt (MW) project. In a notice issued to Wade Cline, MD of Enron India, MSEB chairman Vinay Bansal said the board was constrained to rescind the PPA with immediate effect since the power plant "does not conform to the PPA and is not capable of meeting the contractual terms regarding operating characteristics and dynamic parameters."
