Mumbai may become the first city in the country to get electricity and fertilisers from the garbage thanks to the efforts put forward by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) and corporate sector. In fact, BMC has already issued a letter of intent(LOI) to Soundcraft Industries Ltd for its Rs 144 crore waste management project.The company has tied up with Erricsons and Balpac for their pyrolsis technology and anaerobic digestion systems for waste to energy conversion project.
