Chugoku Electric Power Co., which plans to build a nuclear power plant in Kaminosekicho, Yamaguchi Prefecture (Japan), has offered eight local fishermen's cooperative associations 6 billion yen in compensation for potential damage the plant may cause to fisheries operating in the Seto Inland Sea, sources close to the company said Saturday.
