National metal labs offers to turn Agra foundries green

Foundries and units operating furnaces in and around Agra have found an unlikely saviour in the midst of the on-going crackdown on their emissions. Jamshedpur based National Metallurgical Laboratory has developed a the cokeless cupola technology and finalised plans to sell it on commercial basis to furnace owners in and around Agra. These units faced closure or relocation as emissions were posing a hazard to white marble used in Taj Mahal.
