PM : Finalisation of the national water policy for providing an effective and prompt settlement of inter-state river-sharing disputes and scientific use of water resources will be on top of the government's agenda, said Prime Minister A B Vajpayee. The Prime minister today also reiterated the goverbment's resolve to accord highest priority to upgrade irrigaiton infrastructure in the country. He was addressing the members of the Parliamentary consultative committee attached to the ministry of water resources which met at New Delhi.
