The Narmada Bachao Andolan activists, including its chief Ms. Medha Patkar, began an indefinite fast in front of Vidhan Bhavan in Mumbai today to highlight the alleged "failure of the Maharashtra government to address the issues related to resettlement of those displaced by the Sardar Sarovar Project (SP)".Ms. Patkar, who is camping here since September 11, along with 2000 NBA activists, demanded that the government accept the recommendations of the Justice S Daud committee, set up by State Government to look into the resettlement issue.
