The Narmada Bachao Andolan (NBA) plans to launch a satyagraha on July 5, seeking full rehabilitation of all those affected by the Sardar Sarovar Project (SSP). The NBA will also seeks that the dam construction not be allowed beyond 90 metres. NBA leader Medha Patkar said at least 5,000 families would face submergence during the monsoon, depending on the rainfall. The satyagraha will begin in two villages facing submergence, Domkhedi in Maharashtra and Jalsindhi in Madhya Pradesh. On July 9, the satyagraha will begin in Kasarvad village, which is also expected to face submergence.
