New boundaries to thwart loggers and trespassers

The Thalayban National Park in Satun in Thailand will be re-demarcated and part of it will have its park status revoked in a bid to end illegal logging and forest encroachment by villagers, said Agriculture Minister Pongpol Adireksarn. He said the re-demarcation of the park would end the problem of unclear boundaries often cited by violators. He supported the Forestry Department's decision to allow the villagers to stay on in the forest as they had been living there long before the forest was declared a national park.
