Phaco-emulsification, a new technique for the removal of cataracts, is becoming popular because of its inherent advantages over traditional surgery. Four leading eye-specialists from the regiona successfully operated on cataract patients using the new technique-commonly shortened to phaco--at the Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGI) at Chandigarh on Friday. Over 200 eye specialists witnessed the demostration live at the Bhargav auditorium.
