Water conservation, a food bank and a milk grid for Saarc, are amongst the key issues and projects being discussed in the meeting of the Saarc Technical Committee of Agriculture and Rural Development which began in New Delhi. Producing additional food with limited and degraded natural resources, and ensuring food security for all, are the major challenges before South Asian nations, said Dr Mangala Rai, secretary, department of agricultural research and education, who inaugurated the meeting.
