New emission standards for sulphur dioxide have been set for the Mae Moh lignite-fired power plant to improve local air quality. Supat Wangwongwatana, director of the Pollution Control Department's air quality and noise management division, said emissions at the Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand's power plant must not exceed 11 tonnes per hour.
