Nuclear medicine, a comparatively young branch of medical science, is bringing new hope for patients suffering from soft tissue cancers and those requiring by-pass surgery of the heart, according to Dr. Bikash Sinha, an eminent nuclear physicist who is Director of the Saha Institute of Nuclear Physics (SINP) and Variable Energy Cyclotron Centre (VECC), of Calcutta.
