Kolhiapuri was like any other village in Chhattisgarh faced with acute drought conditions and witnessing migration. The land had dried up and there was no development which coUld generate employment. But a change is now in the offing. On January 15, the local administration launched a small project for water harvesting which involved digging of a water reservoir. Within 10 days, the project provided employment to 170 men and women of this village, with each earning Rs 52 per day.
