For the first time in India, doctors have developed a technique by which a person's height can be increased by about ten inches through inexpensive surgery. The method, which involves surgery of the bones of limbs, is "very useful for short and deformed extremities" which may have become deformed because of various reasons including infection or injury to the bone, congenital deformity, polio myelitis or any other paralytic condition, according to Dr Rajiv Sharma, orthopaedic surgeon at the Apollo hospital here.
