The Apollo hospitals, Hyderabad has introdued new system for treatment of cardio-vascular disorders through Homium lasers on patients with recurring chest pain who had undergone conventional surgical procedures.Senior cardiologist of the hospital Dr P C Rath, talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, said that the new procedure required no surgery and anaesthesia and the patient would be back home on the second day itself. The new technique adapted clearing diffused coronary arteries through Homium lasers introduced with the catheter to the heart chambers. Generally carbon-di-oxide lasers are used which are harmful to heart tissues, Dr Rath said.
