Non-governmental organisations yesterday joined in the attack against the Office of Atomic Energy for Peace for its handling of the radioactive waste leak in Samut Prakan. Protestors also demanded it scrap its plan to build a new research nuclear reactor in Nakhon Nayok. Led by the Alternative Energy Project for Sustainability, GreenNet and Foundation for Consumers, the NGOscriticised the agency as incompetent and poorly-prepared for the incident in which two people became seriously ill after direct exposure to cobalt 60.
