While the government informed the Rajya Sabha that there was no proposal to privatise the Ganga, it gave an assurance that the issue of building dams would be taken up with the Nepal King during his visit to the country to prevent flooding in Bihar and other states. "Water is national wealth and as such cannot be privatised," the Minister of State for Water Resources, Ms Bijoya Chakraborty, informed the House.
