Not hiding behind a smokescreen

Venu Srinivasan, president of the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, SIAM admits that the industry has been soft peddling their role in air pollution. "Now no automobile manufacturer will dare sidestep the pollution issue," he says conceding the public opinion built up against the automobile industry. According to SIAM, two-stroke scooters with catalytic converters were equivalent to four-stroke scooters in terms of emissions.
