Despite the counter-guarantee given by the Union Government on Wednesday for the 1,000 MW Mangalore Power Project promoted by the Cogentrix, it looks like that the Cogentrix may not have its way as the State Government is unlikely to agree for the demands being put forward by the American company, especially the Escrow cover to ensure guarantee of payment for the power sold by the company to the State Electricity Board.
