Ottawa-based Punjat Enterprises Inc has offered the department in collaboration with other companies a study on the economic and industrial feasibility of producing and utilising liquid fuels for automobiles from renewable biomass. Punjat, run by NRI Tarsem Singh Purewal considers Punjab a good production base for ethanol from grain, sugarcane, molasses and agricultural waste.
