DINDIGUL: For the first time, NSS volunteers, members of rural youth groups and Nehru Yuva Kendra join hands to retrieve seven-km-long channel connecting Kaicharakan tank and Periakulam tank in Palayam town panchayat near Gujiliamparai union. Normally NSS volunteers camp in some remote villages and do some field work, campaign for social cause and vacate the chosen village after 10 days. Mega project This time, they took up a mega project in creating a permanent irrigation structure beneficial to several villages in Gujiliamparai Union.
