The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) board today deferred a proposal to clear the capital cost of the 1,000 MW Rihand and the 500-MW Ramagundam projects. The projects, which were earlier awarded to the sole bidder, Bharat Heavy Electricalss Ltd (BHEL), were negotiated by NTPC and the costs were reduced.
